MUMBAI: A fact-finding team, which visited the riot-affected Dhule, has demanded a multi-member judicial probe into the communal clashes that claimed

10 lives and left over 100 injured. The team, headed by activist Medha Patkar, after talking to a cross-section of people in Dhule, concluded that the riots could have been prevented had the local administration removed the inflammatory posters and banners pasted in the town days before the riots broke out on October 5. Addressing mediapersons at the Marathi Patrakar Sangh near CST on Wednesday, J G Khairnar, a member of the fact-finding team and head of Dhule-based NGO Sarva Dharma Sangh, lashed out at Dhule's superintendent of police Sunil Kolhe for not acting in time.
