Just a few observations

Dear All,

Just a few observations:

The news doing the airwaves that Obama has decided to withdraw the missile cover in Poland & the Czech Republic to placate Russia is indeed welcome.

The Obama arguement had followed the ridiculous Bush line that 'The missile shield in Eastern Europe was to protect the region from the Iranian missile threat'.

No sir, it was always meant to encircle & thus pressurise Russia.

A bargain seems to have been struck.

The fact lies that the announcement has come on the eve of the UN gathering in New York which will conclude with a meeting of the UN Security Council on the 23rd of September.

Here the US-Israeli-EU effort will be to further ratchet up the pressure on Iran to abandon it's legitimate Nuclear programme or face far greater sanctions than it already is.

Also do note that Obama's announcement comes soon after Netanyahu's (not-so-secret) trip to Russia where he met Vladimir Putin.

It was only a few hours ago that the BBC reported that Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator publicly stated that George Mitchel has failed in his endeavour to negotiate with the Israeli's into abandoning the 'further (unnatural) growth' of the Settlements in the West Bank & East Jerusalem. 'There will be no further negotiations until all Settlement activity is halted', he said.

The coming week at the UN promises to be interesting & will expose certain falsehoods & Western hypocrisies.

Regards

Feroze
