Terror Attack In Jerusalem, Counter To Fatah-Hamas Unity
By Feroze Mithiborwala
A bomb has struck a crowded bus stop in West Jerusalem, killing at least one person and wounding 30 in what authorities said was the first major attack in the city in several years. At least eight Palestinians, including children, were killed in Israeli mortar attacks and airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. - Al Jazeera
The terror attack in Jerusalem, follows a set pattern. Israeli's attack Gaza with airstrikes & tanks, kill civilians so as to provoke & incite counter violence & then Mossad cells engineer a false-flag terror attack. This has been recorded & observed by various analysts.
Israel has also been threatening to launch another war on Gaza & they need to create a case, a valid pretext for the invasion.
More critically, this is also to counter the growing popular pressure from the Palestinian grass-roots for Palestinian unity, between the Fatah & Hamas. A unified Palestinian resistance, will surely set the momentum for the "Third Intifada", which is due to break out as part of the larger pattern of non-violent democratic uprisings across the Arab world.
When millions of Palestinians begin to march, braving the Israeli bullets, it will decidedly turn the tide of public opinion in favour of Palestinian independence. This is a nightmare scenario that the Israelis do not have an answer to.
The Fatah - Hamas detente is a result of the larger winds of democratic change that are blowing across the region. President Mahmud Abbas has clearly stated that he will soon visit Gaza & that elections cannot be held till Gaza & the West Bank are united again. This is a far cry from the time when the Palestine Authority was complicit in the political marginalization & isolation of Hamas, as that was the core Israeli condition for the so-called "peace process".
Also, the new dispensation in Egypt has invited the Hamas leadership for a dialogue, which itself is unprecedented & now Hamas is set to be integrated into the larger Arab fold.
The 7 million Palestinian Refugees are also all set to march back to their homeland on the 15th of May this year. They are demanding that UN Resolution be implemented & that they be leggaly allowed to return back to their homes & lands from which they were ethnically cleansed in 1948. Imagine the sight when millions of Refugees are peacefully marching back to reclaim their rightful posessions & the impact that would have on global public opinion. The Israeli's will do all that is within their power & resort to dubious means to sabotage this mass uprising.
Also the Siege of Gaza, so cruelly imposed by the Nazi Israeli junta is unsustainable, as now Cairo will allow the flow of humanitarian aid, including construction materials into Gaza. This is a total reversal of the policies of the collaborator Mubarak regime.
Soon again in May, the Second Flotilla is all set to reach the shores of Gaza & break the Israeli Siege. More than 20 ships will set sail from various European ports & after the debacle of the Mavi Marmara masscare wherein Israeli soldiers murdered 10 peace activists, it will be interesting to observe the Israeli response to the coming peace armada.
Thus as we can infer, the Israelis have a series of political challenges & a major crisis looms on the horizon. The Israelis were truly sad to see the end of the Mubarak regime & the refrain was that democracy is not applicable to the Arab & Muslim world.
This infact is the only card left that the Israelis have, to break their increasing isolation across the world. Today the Israeli leadership stands exposed for the failure of the peace process, the continued building of the Settlement blocks, destruction of Palestinian homes in the West bank & Jerusalem & the inhuman Siege of Gaza.
Just a few days ago on BBC, Netanyahu continued to insist that Jerusalem will remain the unified capital of Israel, the Settlements will carry on unabted & that Israel will maintain control of the Jordan Valley, even though some sort of a Palestinian entity or rather a Bantustan is created. Expectedly on the Refugee issue he refused to compromise. He insisted that Hamas will never be accomodated in any process, despite the fact that Hamas is the democratically elected government. Thus there is not much there to discuss, as there seems no hope at all on the core issues.
Israel also desperately needs to counter the growing momentum & recognition for a Palestinian state by the International community. Today more than 170 nations have recognised a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, as per UN Resolutions & International Law & this has too set a sense of panic amongst Israel.
The increasing & total isolation was also evident when the US wielded its veto to shamefully bail out Israel on the resolution moved by the Palestinian Authority on the Settlements. It was the US & Israel against the rest of the world.
As the democratic revolutions rage on across the region, Zionist Israel as an Apartheid state, that Occupies the Palestinian nation, supported by the US & other Western powers is now unsustainable & an anathema to global public opinion. Thus israel is increasingly seen in extremely terms across the world, this is despite the fact that they monopolise & control the flow of news & information through their myriad media networks, but to no avail.
Thus, It is only a matter of time before the Zionist state collapses & withers away, as all colonising projects in history have.
But Israel will wreck a lot of mayhem, terror & wars before the Palestinians finally do win their freedom. The coming years will witness violence that will be beyond our imagination & worst fears.
We now stand at a critical phase of our struggle to liberate Palestine & all of the nations from the forces of Imperialism & Zionism. The final triumph will be that of humanity & thus we must persevere on & walk unitedly with utmost faith & belief in our hearts.

Who is running the Western media?
We usually hear the boastful assertions of the leaders of the Western mainstream media that their media outlets are ideologically, financially and politically independent of their respective governments and what they put forward as packages of information to be consumed by the readers or viewers are unbiased, realistic, unprejudiced and objective.
The Western mainstream media conventionally boast of being professional and attached to the morals of journalism; however, the only thing which is missing in the coverage of these media of the international developments is ethical values, honesty and straightforwardness.
One of the most striking examples of the Western media's indifference towards the aptitude of their audiences was their coverage of the 2008-2009 Gaza Massacre. From BBC to Reuters, from CNN to Sky News and from Washington Post to New York Times, all of them tried to put a lid on the felonies of Israeli regime and by astutely playing with the words, downgraded the scale of atrocity and violence exercised by the Israel Defense Forces. They refused to admit that what Israel was committing was an all-out massacre, so they simply eliminated the term "massacre" from their reports and in one of the most controversial cases, the state-run BBC, which we are used to hearing of its deceitful tricks, refused to broadcast the Disasters Emergency Committee's humanitarian appeal for Gaza under the growing pressure of the Israeli lobby.
This refusal to air an appeal for the humanitarian aids for the crisis-hit Gaza was something which even the British public complained about. On January 23, 2009, Douglas Alexander, the international development secretary, writes a letter to the BBC, Sky and ITV, expressing his "disappointment" that the appeal would not be broadcast. On Sunday, January 25, The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams calls on the BBC to air the appeal, along with Scottish first minister Alex Salmond and justice minister Shahid Malik.
According to a report by the Guardian, BBC admits on the same day that it has received 11,000 complaints from the public about its pro-Israeli decision.
In the same year and while the conflict in the beleaguered Gaza Strip was culminating to a humanitarian crisis, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution, condemning Israel for perpetrating war crimes and killing the unarmed civilians in Gaza who hadn't any access to the outside world to even meet their most essential needs, including medicine, foodstuff and stationery for the students. Reuter's report of the UNHRC's decision was flagrantly lopsided and showed that Reuters and the media outlets similar to it follow nothing but the dictated trajectory of their respective governments. The report, dated January 12, 2009, started like this, "The United Nations Human Rights Council, dominated by Muslim states and their allies, condemned Israel on Monday for "grave violations" of human rights of the people of Gaza."
It's interesting that Reuters and their cronies perpetually fail to realize that UNSC, composed of 5 permanent members which hold a right of veto, an insult to humanity, is dominated by those who have the least respect for the opinion of 190 countries which are not members of this discriminatory council. In its coverage of the sanctions imposed by the UNSC on Iran, Reuters never stated the phrase that "the UNSC, dominated by the US and its European stooges" has passed a new resolution against Iran over its nuclear program; but at the same time, it blatantly described the United Nations Human Rights Council an organization which is dominated by the Muslims and their allies, and this is one of the tactics of propaganda which the Western mainstream media usually exercise. But the question is that, who controls and governs these media outlets? Are they really representatives of the public opinion and people, or simply the puppets of a limited number of governments who want to brainwash the people around the world and distort, falsify and misrepresent the realities before their eyes?
The answer to the first question is that, TV channels such as BBC, France 24, CNN and Fox News are absolutely state-owned and state-run. Aside from the fact that the key figures in all of these media channels are well-off, influential Jews who advertise the interests of the Israeli regime, these outlets are inescapably responsible for advocating and propagating the mindset of the statesmen and their respective governments in order to survive and remain on the stage.
BBC World Service is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is the British government department responsible for promoting the interests of the United Kingdom abroad. According to the BBC's 2008-2009 Annual Report, the network received £294.6 million of governmental grants which simply constitutes a small portion of the total budget which is allocated to BBC World Service by the UK government.
The same goes with Fox News. This TV channel is controlled by the media conglomerate News Corporation which is owned by the Jewish Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch. News Corporation is the world's third largest media conglomerate after the Walt Disney Company and Time Warner. However, the funding of Fox News and News Corporation comes from the US Department of Defense. Fox News has always claimed that it's an independent media outlet which gives room to both conservatives and democrats to speak out their mind. It denies any allegation of pro-Israeli bias and refuses to admit that it's controlled by Pentagon. But the reality is somewhat different. A small number of affluent and prosperous Jews who have ties with the high-ranking US officials control the mass media in the United States.
An interesting report by the US National Alliance showed that a striking majority of the US media, including magazines, newspapers, TV channels, radio stations and news websites are run by the extremist Zionists who are very close to the White House.
The largest media conglomerate in the world today is Time Warner. Among its subsidiaries are New Line Cinema, Time Inc., HBO, Turner Broadcasting System, The CW Television Network, TheWB.com, Warner Bros., Kids' WB, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Adult Swim, CNN, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, Cartoon Network Studios and Castle Rock Entertainment. Each of these subordinates possesses hundreds of magazines, news networks and TV stations which has made the company a giant which seems to be totally undefeatable and indissoluble.
"Warner, founded by the Jewish Warner brothers in the early part of the last century, rapidly became part of the Jewish power base in Hollywood, a fact so well-known that it is openly admitted by Jewish authors, as is the fact that each new media acquisition becomes dominated by Jews in turn," reads the report by the National Alliance institute.
The second-largest media conglomerate today, with 2003 revenues of $27.1 billion, is the Walt Disney Company. Its leading personality and CEO who chaired the company from 1984 to 2005, Michael Eisner, is a Jew.
"Another Jewish media mogul is Edgar Bronfman, Jr. He headed Seagram Company, Ltd., the liquor giant, until its recent merger with Vivendi. His father, Edgar Bronfman, Sr., is president of the World Jewish Congress," the report adds.
Lo and behold, it's said that Zionists control more than 95% of the world's mainstream media. Robert Chernin who was until 2009 President and Chief Operating Officer of News Corporation, and Chairman and CEO of Fox Entertainment Group is an ardent Jew. He played an important role in laying the groundwork for the 2003 invasion of Iraq by staging a rigorous and severe media propaganda through Fox New. He advocated the invasion of Iraq and brainwashed the American public to convince them that a military expedition was necessary in Iraq.
Other names can be called who are among the most powerful figures of the mainstream media in the United States and run several newspapers, TV channels and radio stations. Mortimer Zuckerman, the 148th wealthiest American by 2008 is the owner of NY Daily News, US News & World Report and chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish American Organizations, one of the largest pro-Israel lobbying groups in the United States.
American journalist, Jeffrey Blankfort has written in an article published by Rense.com that Leslie Moonves, president of CBS television, is a great-nephew of David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of the Israeli regime and co-chair with Norman Ornstein of the Advisory Committee on Public Interest Obligation of Digital TV Producers.
Overall, the claim that the American or British media outlets are free, independent and reliable is an empty claim and there's no proof to demonstrate it. American and British media are funded by their respective governments and controlled by a number of fervent Zionists who seek nothing but the promotion of the interests of Israel in the Middle East.

Excellent Article: Godhra: Reading the fine lines by Pravin Mishra
by Pravin Mishra on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 9:15am
Comparison of 9/11 WTC attack and train burning is about magnifying the events at Godhra so that any gruesome reaction to it can be justified
A week after the Godhra verdict, we must ask what we accept as ‘truth’. I understand the trauma and the pain for those who lost their loved ones in Godhra. Their suffering is real and it should not be denied. But we must be careful to avoid using one tragedy to justify another. I also yearn for closure on the Gujarat tragedy. But I know my closure will come only when the truth about what happened in Godhra emerges.
The conspiracy theory, as upheld by the sessions court, has once again put Godhra’s minority community in the accused box. The only logic used by the court is by posing 36 questions, the most significant being “Whether some Muslim Ghanchi of Godhra are communal minded?”
After posing these 36 questions, the judge arrived at the the most amazing conclusion — “It would not have been possible for the assailants to gather near the place of the incident, to make assault with deadly weapons, to set the coach S6 on fire and to kill 59 persons and to cause burn injuries to 48 others, within a short span of 20 minutes time, stopping the train at a lonely place and pouring the petrol approximately 140 litters inside the said coach, if there was no pre-planned at all and no conspiracy amongst the assailants.”
Citing the past communal history of Godhra, the conspiracy theory is upheld, even though the ‘master conspirator’ is acquitted. Of those convicted, 11 are to be hanged, 20 to remain in prison for life. From the day Godhra happened, the government has been pre-occupied with profiling the attack as an act of terrorism than in ascertaining the facts. Indeed on February 27, 2002, itself, our chief minister was quick to label the event as an act of terrorism.
The trial court’s decision mirrors this view — that Godhra was a pre-planned act. There is little mention of the altercation that occurred on the train platform between the kar sevaks and the vendors, or the harassment of a young Muslim girl, Sophia Banu, which prompted many Muslims near the platform to begin throwing stones. These incidents have been brushed aside as of no consequence. This lent credence to the state’s version of Godhra incident.
The verdict is about symbolism and recreating the past. It is about casting the entire Gujarat violence in 2002 as the natural response of Hindus to a pre-planned attack by Muslims in Godhra. We have already seen this in the language used in describing the large-scale killing of Muslims that followed as mere ‘post-Godhra’.
The images of 9/11 WTC attacks were compared with the burning pattern of S6 by forensic experts to establish the petrol theory that 140 liters were poured in to burn the coach. This is absurd as we all have seen how the smoke follows the instant explosion in WTC whereas there was no explosion in the S6 coach. The coach was packed with more than 150 passengers. There were more people who survived than those who lost their lives in S6. The first flame of fire was noticed 15 minutes after the smoke was noticed, impossible with the presence of such a huge amount of inflammable.
Surely there are other historical examples that can be used to understand patterns of smoke after an explosion. But the comparison with 9/11 is significant. It is about magnifying the events of Godhra so that any gruesome reaction to Godhra can be justified. We saw the United States, under President Bush, use 9/11 to justify bombing two nations, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths, that had scant connection to the 9/11 attacks.
Will we also use the Godhra tragedy to paralyse our own thinking? They say lie has speed but truth has stamina. But I add: only if we are willing to ask the right questions.

First National Conference against Fascism, Terrorism & Encounters
INVITATION for REGISTRATION
It is apparent to one and all that the issue of terrorism is no more a problem that can be ignored or wished away. The post 9/11 world, is one in which, terror has become a dominant part of the socio-political discourse in countries across the world, in a manner that most of us could never have imagined. We know that Bush's Global War on Terror(GWoT) is nothing but a euphemism for unleashing wars for Global domination and control over resources. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan today stand exposed in the eyes of the world.
Ordinary Indians from across all religious communities have fallen prey to terror and these attacks have occurred in Mandirs, Masjids, trains, buses and public places. This climate of suspicion and fear is fueling communal divisions and hatred. At the same time our country is on the terror radar and our security services have repeatedly failed to protect the people, whilst managing to protect politicians through regular encounters. We are now experiencing a daily barrage of emails, telephone calls, faxes etc, threatening temples, mosques, airlines, prominent commercial buildings, political leaders and what have you. Terrorist attacks and encounter deaths have become the norm.
Counter to the general perception, actually terror bomb blasts have replaced communal riots as a strategy of the State to divide people. Not a single terror attack either in a Mandir or Masjid has led to communal riots. They are not meant to!! Terror attacks achieve the same aim without blood stains on the hands of the politicians, police or bureaucracy.
The people are undoubtedly fearful and confused and this anger then transforms itself into an anti-Muslim Islamophobia. The general climate of violence and wars, is also fueling the growth of religious extremism across all sections and all these factors are a threat to Indian democracy and secularism.
The necessity of the National Conference was also felt in view of the growing tendency of the State to use violence against innocent citizens under the guise of "fighting terrorism".
We appeal to all those who have undertaken fact finding regarding the fake encounters and fake acts of terrorism and also of RSS involvements in such activities to send us their reports. Our plan is to compile a dossier of all the fact finding reports and you are all requested to email us the same as soon as possible.
For the first ever time at the National Conference, we will discuss and present the facts as they have been recorded by the people regarding the terror attacks ranging from the Parliament, Godhra-Sabarmati Express, Sankat Mochan Mandir, Mumbai, Hyderabad Mecca Mosque, Nagpur, Malegaon, Nanded and the encounters in Chittisinghpora, Ansal Plaza, Sohrabuddin, Ishrat Jahan, Khwaja Yunus etc.
We will also discuss the international terror networks and the linkages between the Al Qaeda and the CIA-MOSSAD. The 9/11 WTC attack itself will be dealt with, since it is the centre piece of the GWoT. We reconstruct and expose the lies of the WTC terror attack and the rest of the lies all falls apart like a pack of cards.
The issues are complex but we need to start a process at the national level and all the reports that we garner and all the discussions that we record, will be compiled, since an effort of this sort has never been undertaken in India.
We need to free our minds and liberate it from the propaganda of the corporate controlled print and electronic media and as we clear the veil of lies, we will take the truth to the people.
We thus request all concerned activists and people to attend.

Jan Sansad Mumbai Session-Mumbai, 4th & 5th March, 2011
Mumbai, 4th & 5th March, 2011
ALL ARE WELCOME !
Dear friends,
Zindabad !
India today is perhaps facing the worst of the crisis amidst numerous scams, rampant corruption in all walks of public life, high inflation and an unholy alliance of politicians, business tycoons and bureaucracy. Each one of us are being affected by this but those at the margins of the society the farmers, dalits, adivasis, working class populations in the cities and fast growing metropolises are feeling the heat much more than a small minority which is enjoying the fruits of neo-liberal reforms and contributing to the ongoing crisis. From every nook and corner of the country the voices of despair, disgust, protest, struggle are calling for complete transformation of public life and institution of true people’s power.
Today the government, bureaucracy, judiciary and every other public institution is under the scanner of people’s power. The growing repression on the people’s movements, increasing inequity and rising corruption are all a manifestation of the neo-liberal reforms and the path of growth obsessed development pursued by the political class since 19990s. Our land, water, forests and other natural resources are all being now handed over to the corporations for a pittance and the government has become their agent relinquishing its responsibility towards the working class and marginal citizens. The probity in public life today demands the need for creating an alliance beyond the current format of the self-centred political parties and true representatives of the people’s power.
In backdrop of this unfolding crisis Jan Sansad is the process aimed at bringing together of struggling masses, their concerns, establishment of the people’s power and paving the way for complete transformation of public life. The Jan Sansad will be joined by the representatives of the communities in struggle from across the country, intellectuals and other professionals who have stood by the struggle of masses for their right to livelihood and protection of natural resources and for people's development and representatives from different ward sabhas. It will be witnessed by thousands of people who will converge from different bastis from Mumbai, other cities and struggle areas. After presentation on each of the themes it will be debated by the members of the Sansad and action plans formulated for action in the times to come by the movements and communities who are struggling to build a better world and habitable and equitable cities.
Mumbai Jan Sansad will be held on March 4, 5 at Tata Institute of Social Sciences and hosted by Ghar Bachao Ghar Banao Andolan and National Alliance of People's Movements at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. This session is being held in the city where a strong movement against uprooting of slum dwellers; land grab by city development authority and mafia builder lobby; and for housing rights of the working class is going on.
Jan Sansad will also focus on the issues of equity and accessibility to the resources like food, water, housing, employment, health, education for everyone who lives in the city and not for few who pocket the maximum resources. A blueprint for modern cities will be evolved which will secure dignity for everyone and not at the cost of livelihoods of those who build and run the city – the working class. Lavasa and Adarsh Society can't be the future of cities and urbanisation in a country where 70 percent of people still live in villages and survive on less than a dollar a day.
We do hope you will be able to join us for this important session of the Jan Sansad and help us take another step forward in our collective struggle towards total transformation and for creating a better country and world. After two days of discussion, on March 6th some of the Jan Sansad members will visit Jaitapur in the nearby district of Ratnagiri where a strong movement against 10,000MV Nuclear Power Plant is going on. You are invited to join us for the Jaitapur visit too and so please make necessary bookings accordingly.
