INDIA PALESTINE PEOPLES' SOLIDARITY FORUM

The UN Palestine Statehood Vote, implications of the US Veto & Indian Foreign Policy
A Panel Discussion

Venue: Marathi Patrakar Sangh, CST, Mumbai.
Date: 5th October 2011 / Time: 4.00 to 6.00pm

The struggle for the Palestinian quest for statehood has once again reached the centre-stage of global politics. The battle from the streets of Palestine, is now being waged in the UN & continues to be debated across every capital across the world.

The US Imperial power has vowed to Veto the application moved by President Mahmoud Abbas & the Obama administration has threatened the Palestinian leadership with dire consequences. Yet the Palestinians continue undaunted with the support of the overwhelming nations of the world, as the US & Israeli Imperialists grow increasingly isolated & thoroughly exposed.

The UN Statehood process has generated a new political awakening, sympathy & solidarity the world over & it has strenthened the Palestinian solidarity movements both within & across the nations.

Also the fact that India's is determined to vote in support of fPalestine, despite it's close alliance with the US-Israel, is a pointer to new possibilities for our struggle.

We will also discuss the need to create & establish a Palestine solidarity netowrk across the country as that is the need of the hour.

Also the critical issue of the Judaization of Jerusalem, lies at the centre of the crisis as the Settlements continue to grow unabated & here we will discuss the "Global March to Jerusalem", as the next major collective international people's endeavour.

The meeting will be presided by the eminent Supreme Court Advocate Yusuf Muchala
