One evening an old Zulu Induna and his grandson were sitting around the fire. The Headman told his grandson about the battle that goes on inside people.
The grandchild thought about this and asked:
"What are these things that fight this battle?"
The Induna replied:
"My son, the battle is between the two vultures that exist inside us all".
The grandchild asked:
"How are these vultures different?"
The old, wise man replied:
One is *Tradition; *it is habits, keeping* *things the way they are, resisting change, comfort, 'not like us', inferiority, ignorance, fear of the unknown, 'it has always been like that', prejudice, lack of commitment, too much effort..........
The other is *Transformation; *it is* *insight, accepting change, discipline, tolerance, patience, accepts others for what they are, giving others an opportunity........
The grandson stared silently into the fire for a few minutes and then asked his grandfather:
"Which vulture wins the battle?"
The old Induna simply replied:
*"The one you feed" *
HOW TRUE
